To have completed the module M3 of the master.
- Acquire work and cultural experience in the fields of scientific heritage and communication.
- Understand the historical and current relations between science, culture and society, in situ.
- Apply the knowledge and frameworks acquired in the master's degree to professional activities in these areas.
- Orientation with respect to integration in the labor market and/or cooperative projects.
This module seeks to train future experts in applying conceptuals tools of the history of science and offering skills to manage material culture, deal with scientific heritage and intervene in scientific communication programs.
The module is compulsory for those students who have completed module M3, Material culture, heritage and scientific communication; in this way, this module consitutes the achievement of the professional orientation.
The module allows students to do internships related to management, preservation, conservation, study and communication of science and its heritage.
The students will have to elaborate later a Master's thesis (module M9) that collects the work done and discusses its relationship with the professional objectives and of the master's degree, particularly with those of module M3 Material culture, heritage and scientific communication.
The development of this practicum is based on the signing of agreements between one of the universities coordinators of the master and different companies and institutions related to the heritage and communication of the science.

The internship will take place over a period of approximately nine weeks in the second semester (with a maximum
of a total of 225 hours, at a rate of approximately 4 hours per day or 20 hours per week), between the months of February and
May, as detailed below. Students will have the category of students in internships, without any contractual relationship with the company and without remuneration, except for those cases in which better conditions have been fortunately agreed.
The internships involve the incorporation of the students in the processes of generation, documentation, writing,
production, edition and / or distribution of scientific-technological content, and / or scientific-technological heritage management.
Often, and depending on the collaborating entities and companies, the practices are articulated through the
preparation and realization of concrete projects executable in the described time period, so that this
collaboration is a real contribution to these processes.
The person or persons of the receiving entity in charge of the students will be the external tutors and will supervise the
work and the contribution of the students in the practices, in collaboration with the coordinator of the module and
M3 teachers (internal tutors).
There would be a possibility to integrate the practices in the methodologies of Service-Learning.
English could be used in some of the sessions, as it is a teaching language of the Master.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Students will develop a Final Dissertation Project, in which they must include the results of the practicum and articulate them with the goals, concepts and frameworks of the Master (extension of 3.000 words, including bibliography). Specific instruction will be given in the follow-up sessions and the syllabus.

In addition to web and office software tools such as the online campus, email, office suite, (preferably open and free) tools like pdf readers, image readers and audiovisual file reader will be used.
AI: This subject entirely prohibits the use of AI technologies in all of its activities, except in those cases in which internal or external tutors explicitly recommend it. Any submitted work that contains content generated using AI will be considered academic dishonesty; the corresponding grade will be awarded a zero, without the possibility of reassessment. In cases of greater infringement, more serious action may be taken.
