None.
The structure of the module is common to all specialties, although the coordinator of each specialty will provide information on the specifics of the module in each specialty. The centrality of internships in the master's degree means that the contents and development of the internship module are related both to the common module (Psycho-pedagogical and social training) and to the specific modules of each specialty. The work that the student will carry out throughout the module must serve to bring them into contact with the reality of the profession, and for this reason it is developed, in large part, in a secondary education center (or official language school) under the supervision of a mentor or mentor of internships from the center and a tutor of internships from the university. The assignment of the internship center will be carried out by the coordination of each specialty, selecting the training centers recognized by the Department, considering, when possible, the geographical origin of the student. In the first phase of the practicum, students will have to learn about the reality of an educational center, its functions, structure and organization, as well as integrate into the life and activities of the internship center in general and the groups where their mentor teaches in particular. In the second phase, they will have to integrate into a class group and carry out intervention activities both with support and independently. Overall, their work, both in the phases of preparation for university and during their stay in a secondary school, must allow them to put into practice the skills necessary for their professional development, with the help of the university tutor, the center's internship coordination and the center's internship mentor. It is encouraged that the internship be carried out in pairs whenever possible.
The module is structured in the following blocks:
BLOCK 1. Complementary training workshops Throughout the course, workshops and conferences will be offered that will complete the students' initial practical training and that address cross-cutting themes that are not covered in any other module.
BLOCK 2. Observation internships in a Secondary Education center or Official Language School (EOI) First phase of the internships in a Secondary Education center or EOI that should serve to get to know the center and its environment, the educational project and its specifics; the general organization, the functioning of the department, the functioning of the department corresponding to the specialty, the analysis of the center's resources for quality education, the work of the mentor teacher or secondary school mentor teacher and the different interventions in which the mentor acts as a teacher. The intern must also collaborate with the mentor in the planning and execution of activities in the classroom.
The observation practicum (Phase II) will last 2 weeks and 3 days during which the student must fulfill the entire schedule of their mentor (approximately 25 hours per week), from November 17 to December 3, 2025
BLOCK 3. Intervention practices in a Secondary Education center or Official Language School (EOI) Second phase of the practices in a Secondary Education center or EOI that must serve to complete the observation practices and analyze the professionalizing characteristics of the secondary school teacher. Likewise, during this period the student in practice will carry out accompanied intervention actions, adapting to the ordinary planning of the mentor, and an autonomous intervention as a teacher. This intervention must be designed, implemented and evaluated by the student under the supervision of the university tutor and with the approval of the mentor of the center. The work on this second stay is linked to the specialty module. The intervention practicum (Phase IV) will last 7 weeks during which the student must fulfill the entire schedule of their mentor (approximately 25 hours per week). Specifically, this year the dates of the Intervention practicum are from March 9 to May 1, 2026

During the different phases of the practicum, guided activities will be established, such as workshops or monitoring of portfolio documents, supervised activities, in the form of individual or group practical tutorials, and autonomous activities, where students will have to prepare the activities to be carried out during the practical periods at the educational center, the portfolio documents and the master's final project. During the two stays at the center, the student will actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the activities required by their mentor at the center, in addition to the implementation of their intervention and/or didactic sequence. They will also attend meetings, meetings and activities programmed by the center and weekly meetings with their mentor.
7 mandatory tutorials with the University tutor are contemplated: - A common tutorial to evaluate the 1st practical stay. This tutorial will be done jointly with the entire group that is tutored by the same tutor (duration approx. 2h)
- 5 tutorials to prepare the SA (with a maximum duration of 10h of dedication). These tutorials are done in a personalized way for each SA that is designed.
- A common tutorial to evaluate the 2nd internship. This tutorial will be done jointly with the entire group of students that is tutored by the same tutor (duration approx. 2h)
At the beginning of the course, each specialty coordinator will distribute the schedule with the tutoring slots and later each tutor will specify the tutorials.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Following the ACADEMIC REGULATIONS OF THE AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY OF BARCELONA (Approved by agreement of the Governing Council of July 7, 2022, and modified by agreement of the Governing Council of February 1, 2023, July 12, 2023, March 12, 2024, July 11, 2024 and March 20, 2025), the External Internship subjects do not include the possibility of recovery. In order to pass the internship, it is necessary to demonstrate an attitude compatible with the teaching profession and pass the 3 evaluation evidence. Demonstrating an attitude compatible with the teaching profession is assessed with both assessment evidence 1 and 3, and implies, among others:
- Having been respectful towards members of the educational community, in accordance with the ethical criteria of the profession (relating to aspects such as equality, fairness, co-education or inclusion), avoiding inappropriate behavior (xenophobic, sexist, homophobic, etc.).
- Complying with the regulations of the educational center and the university (punctuality, following timetables, use of mobile phones, clothing, etc.), and writing and speaking Catalan or the vehicular language of the specialty correctly and appropriately.
- Showing a reasonable command of the content taught and the basic skills to teach it.
- Show a sufficient level of competence to be able to carry out educational action based on the analysis of the personal and group contexts in which they occur, generating a safe and trusting environment, inclusive and respectful of diversity, seeking equity and social justice, generating effective communicative interactions.
- Be able to understand, express and manage in an appropriate manner according to the context, emotional and social phenomena and interpersonal relationships, contributing to the well-being of the educational community.
VERY IMPORTANT: During the internship, students must show the skills, attitudes and values compatible with the profession. If this is not the case, at anytime during the internship, the center and/or university may prepare a report on the interruption of the internship, where it is evidenced that the student cannot continue doing them. The receipt of this report directly entails suspending the module and stopping the internship. The numerical grade that will appear in the report will be 3.
The 3 pieces of assessment evidence that must be approved are:
Evidence of assessment 1. Report from the practicum mentor (25% of the final module grade). It is a requirement to obtain this report that the mentor must complete 100% of the full schedule at the internship center and demonstrate an attitude compatible with the teaching profession. Failure to comply with this attendance will result in the module being suspended. In exceptional cases, the possibility of recovering the hours of non-attendance at the center will be considered with a personalized plan agreed upon with the tutor and mentor. This grade is individual and non-recoverable
Evidence of assessment 2. Approve the internship portfolio (55% final module grade). To approve the portfolio, the 3 documents that make it up must be approved. The coordination of the specialty will define at the beginning of the course the characteristics of each of these 3 documents:
o Document 1: Document in relation to Practicum 1 (5% final grade of the module) Individual activity not recoverable
o Document 2: Teaching planning (design of a didactic intervention or guidance intervention, in the case of OE) (35% final grade of the module) Maximum 25000 characters with spaces + Annex). Delivery before the second stay at the internship center.
VERY IMPORTANT: If the university tutor considers that the teaching planning does not meet the minimum requirements at the time of delivery, the delivery is automatically suspended, and Practicum 2 will NOT be able to begin. Group grade (individual, if is not possible) not recoverable.
o Document 3: Teaching performance, personal assessment and improvement proposals (15% final module grade) Maximum 15000 characters with spaces + Annex). Delivery before the third week from the return from the second stay at the internship center.
If the 3 documents have not been approved and that the average of the evaluation evidence was greater than or equal to 5, the grade that would appear in the acta would be 4.5.
Evidence of assessment 3. Positive report from the university tutor in relation to demonstrating an attitude compatible with the teaching profession and Active participation in the practicum follow-up seminars and workshops. (20% of the final grade) In the practicum follow-up seminar sessions, the university tutor will guide the student on the content of each of the documents that will form the portfolio. Students are expected to actively participate in the activities and debates that arise. Their reflection on their own learning process, presentations of observations made in the classroom and the exchange and discussion will be considered.
The deadlines for teachers to grade the activities do not have to exceed 20 working days.
Other aspects to consider in relation to the assessment:
1. Language proficiency
Since the vehicular language of the master's degree and secondary education is Catalan, the oral and written tasks related to this module must be presented in this language in the specialties that are not in other languages. In the activities submitted in writing (individual or in groups), linguistic correction, writing and formal aspects of presentation will be considered. Likewise, it is necessary to express oneself orally with fluency and correctness and it is necessary to show a high degree of understanding of academic texts. An activity may not be evaluated, returned or suspended if the teachers consider that it does not meet the requirements mentionedabove. Without prejudice to the fact that the student has submitted the appropriate documentation to the pre-registration office, to pass the internship module, students in the specialties of first languages and foreign languages must demonstrate full mastery of the language of specialization both in the academic-university context, and in the secondary, baccalaureate or EOI classroom. The "mastery" level is equivalent to a C2.
2. Use of Artificial Intelligence The legal framework that regulates the use of AI in the academic field is set out in both state-wide laws and is focused on aspects related to industrial and intellectual property rights and academic integrity. In this subject, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is allowed as an integral part of the development of the work, provided that the result reflects a significant contribution by the student in the analysis and personal reflection. The student must clearly identify which parts have been generated with this technology, specify the tools used and include a critical reflection on how these have influenced the process and the result of the activity. The lack of transparency in the use of AI will be considered a lack of academic honesty and may lead to a penalty in the grade of the activity, or greater sanctions in serious cases.” 3. Copying or plagiarism Copying or plagiarism in any type of assessment activity constitutes a crime and will be penalized with a 0 as the grade for the subject, losing the possibility of recovering it, whether it is an individual or group work (in this case, all members of the group will have a 0). If, during the completion of an individual work in class, the teacher considers that a student is trying to copy or some type of document or device not authorized by the teacher is discovered, the same will be graded with a 0, without the option of recovery, and therefore, the subject will fail. A work, activity or exam will be considered as “copied” when it reproducesall or a significant part of the work of another classmate. A work or activity will be considered as “plagiarized” when a part of a text by an author is presented as one's own without citing the sources, regardless of whether the original sources are on paper or in digital format.
Selected readings will be given by university tutors during the first practicum seminar.
