*Importante: When registering for the internship module, you must purchase supplementary insurance through the Faculty's Academic Administration Office. Due to regulations, you cannot begin the internship without this insurance. (Supplementary insurance cost: approximately €7.55).

*Students must have a digital signature in order to be able to sign internship agreements.

Objectives and Contextualisation

The module consists of 150 hours of external practices, distributable during the 1st and / or 2nd semester of the course, but priority scheduled during the spring period. The internship is carried out in one of the institutions with which the UAB has a collaboration agreement. Convinced of the important complement that the experience of the practices supposes in the formation of the student, one of the priorities of our Master consists in adapting –as far as possible– the practices to the profile and interests of our students. At the beginning of the course, the internship module coordinator interviews the students enrolled to discuss this issue and inform them. From here, the process of organizing practices begins. The tasks that the student carries out throughout the internship period are usually linked to a project developed by their destination institution, and can be very varied - collaboration in documentation, cataloging and registration of collections; support tasks for the preparation and production of an exhibition; collaboration with communication services or educational services; participation in an editing project; support to the management tasks related to the day to day of the department of a museum, an art center or a gallery, etc–. As is logical, the projects vary depending on the centers. Before starting the internship stay, the student interviews the professional of the destination center who must supervise him, in order to establish a first contact, agree on the tasks to be performed and also talk about the calendar and schedules. Once the internship period is over, the student must present a report of the activity.

In order to formalize the internship agreement, the student must have a digital signature.
