Prerequisites

It is necessary to previously do the course "Foundations of the Law" of the 1st year.

This course will take into account the pèrspective of the Sustainable Development Goals


Objectives and Contextualisation

1. Promote a critical analysis of the creation, implementation and interpretation of Law from a gender perspective.

2. Identify factors that obstruct real and effective equality, from an intersectional gender perspective, in different arms of the legal system.

3. Conduct case studies on the alleged neutrality of Law across Spanish and European jurisprudence.


Learning Outcomes

The course will be developed from the reading commentaris and the student researches. Each week a compulsory reading will be discussed and there will be a group exhibition on a theme of the program. During the course the student's individual or grupal work will be divided into a research paper and an exam

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Final scores to be obtained from the following criteria:


1.1 Continuous evaluation of the lessons. (50% of the note). Dates of the evaluable activities and their content will be shown on the virtual campus before the start of the course.

Students are advised to attend classes on a continuous basis and carry out scheduled activities throughout the course (readings, comments on legislation, jurisprudence analysis, etc.)

1.2 Final exam (50% of note). It must be passed with a score higher than 5 to average the ratings of the continuous evaluation.

In the event of a student committing any irregularity that may lead to a significant variation in the grade awarded to an assessment activity, the student will be given a zero for this activity, regardless of any disciplinary process that may take place. In the event of several irregularities in assessment activities of the same subject, the student will be given a zero as the final grade for this subject

In the event that tests or exams cannot be taken onsite, they will be adapted to an online format made available through the UAB’s virtual tools (original weighting will be maintained). Homework, activities and class participation will be carried out through forums, wikis and/or discussion on Teams, etc. Lecturers will ensure that students are able to access these virtual tools, or will offer them feasible alternatives.

Grade review procedure.

At the moment of realization of each evaluation activity, the professor will inform the student (Moodle) of the procedure and the revision of the qualifications.

										

Conditions for the qualification ‘Not appraisable’.
The student re-qualifies as Non-Valuable as long as he / she has not completed i / o or more than 2/3 of the activities evaluated.

POSSIBILITY OF UNIQUE EVALUATION. It must be requested at the beginning of the subject or later for unforeseen reasons. 1st activity (25%) + 2nd activity (25%) + content test (50%, same as the final exam).

Use of Artificial Intelligence

For this subject, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is allowed exclusively in support tasks, such as bibliographic or information searches, text correction or translations. The student must clearly identify which parts have been generated with this technology, specify the tools used and include a critical reflection on how they have influenced the process. Non-transparency in the use of AI in this evaluable activity will be considered a lack of academic honesty and may result in a penalty partial or total in the grade of the activity, or greater sanctions in serious cases
