Objectives and Contextualisation

This compulsory subject develops the social and political history of Spain from the Civil War and the construction of the New Franco State up to the present day, in correspondence with the basic chronology of the rest of the history subjects grouped by pools. This is the analysis of a specific case within Europe, given that -together with Portugal- it was the only country that maintained a pre-war dictatorship, without any transition to a communist dictatorship or a liberal-democratic system, but conserving a good part of it unchanged. of the characteristics that made it an ally of the Nazi-fascist Axis. Similarly, the political change of the late 1970s had no parallel in Western Europe -except, once again, Portugal- and anticipated, to some extent, what was to happen next in much of Latin America.

Academic work 30% 10 0.4 1, 4, 13, 6, 7, 11, 12, 14
Practices 20% 4 0.16 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 14, 9, 16, 17, 20, 19
Written exams 50% 3 0.12 1, 3, 10, 18, 5, 13, 7, 8, 15

Assessment method.

Continuous assessment:

a) Two exams worth a total of 50% of the maximum grade (25% each exam)

b) An assignment on a topic proposed by the teaching staff, worth up to 30% of the final grade. The deadline will be in December 2025.

c) Classroom practice sessions (four in total), worth up to 20% of the final grade (5% each). These will be scheduled throughout the academic year.

Single assessment:

a) An exam worth a total of 50% of the final grade. It will be scheduled in January 2026.

b) An assignment on a topic proposed by the teaching staff with a cumulative grade of up to 30%. The date will coincide with the exam (January 2026).

c) Four practices with a cumulative mark of up to 20% (5% for each). The date will coincide with the exam (January 2026).

On carrying out each evaluation activity, lecturers will inform students (on Moodle) of the procedures to be followed for reviewing all grades awarded, and the date on which such a review will take place.

In the event of a student committing any irregularity that may lead to a significant variation in the grade awarded to an assessment activity, the student will be given a zero for this activity, regardless of any disciplinary process that may take place. In the event of several irregularities in assessment activities of the same subject, the student will be given a zero as the final grade for this subject.

Recovery: Students must have been previously assessed in a set of activities the weight of which is equivalent to a minimum of 2/3 of the total grade (CONTINUOUS EVALUATION) or have taken all the scheduled tests and assignments (SINGLE EVALUATION). In addition, the student must have a final average grade of at least 3.5 points (CONTINUOUS EVALUATION or SINGLE EVALUATION).

The recovery for failed tests and assignments will take place on the date set by the centre's administration. The maximum mark that can be obtained in the reevaluation is 5.0 (Pass)

A student who has not submitted evaluation evidence for more than a third of the the assessed items will be considered "not assessed/not submited" (and not suspended).

In this subject, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is not allowed at any stage. Any work that includes fragments generated by AI will be considered a breach of academic honesty and may result in a partial or total penalty on the activity grade, or greater penalties in serious cases.
