Prerequisites
The prerequisites for taking the Module of Social policies, people and territory are to have previously studied the theoretical modules of the Master, that is, modules 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Objectives and Contextualisation
The objective of this module is, from the analysis of social policies and the forms of social intervention in social services, to relate, by the student, the role of professionals with their impacts on their recipients: people , the organized citizenship of the territory and the rest of existing services and administrations. On the other hand, identify the mechanisms of evaluation and joint work of the professional with the institution for the improvement of policies and / or interventions.
Learning Outcomes
- CA11 (Competence) Evaluate own strengths and weaknesses for the application of tools for the prevention and management of territorial conflicts around social policies and specific community actions.
- CA12 (Competence) Use information and communication technologies effectively in the collection, elaboration and transmission of knowledge on social policies and community action.
- KA11 (Knowledge) Identify the scales of territorial and individual-personal impact of social policies or programmes and community actions.
- KA12 (Knowledge) Define the main theoretical responses to conflict management associated with social policies and community actions, which reinforce the values of democratic coexistence.
- SA11 (Skill) Apply analysis tools for case studies, which identify and address territorial conflicts of social policies and specific community actions.
- SA12 (Skill) Select strategies to address community conflicts that promote the participation and empowerment of the actors involved.
Content
As specific contents of the module we find:
Individual, group and community intervention in the territory. Tools for individual, group and community empowerment. The analysis of social policies from the community perspective. Tools for conflict resolution in the community. Approximation to mainstreaming in policies.

The teaching methodology combines master classes with case study visits, readings, group practical exercises, tutoring, supervised work for the accomplishment of exercises and the elaboration of works.
The students throughout the development of the module realize visits of case study to concrete experiences. Prior to visits, students receive lectures, readings and complementary audiovisual material, with the objective of providing theoretical elements and analysis to be put into practice or contrast in the visits.
Subsequent to the case study visits, students receive a master class in which they analyze, discuss and contrast the elements covered in the visit.
In the framework of the module also a Reading Seminar is held, where from the reading of a book established by the teaching staff, the content will be dealt with in depth from a participatory methodology, where from the dynamization of the Professor the students will have to contribute their point of view, analysis and opinion argued about the different topics discussed in the book.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

At the end of the module the students will have to present a written work on the contents addressed in the master classes and in the case study visits. The note will be determined by the level of coherence in the argument of the answers based on: the contents exposed in class and the vises, complementary materials (readings / audiovisuals) and the same debates generated in class and within the framework of the case study visits.
The students have the spaces in the center where the classes are taught to promote the exchange and shared reflection when doing their jobs.
Prior to submitting the final project, the students will conduct a collective tutoring on the work to be delivered.
Assistance to the activities programmed in this module (two case visits and a reading seminar) is mandatory, absence of any of them must be justified and may not exceed 20%.
A student will be considered a non-eligible student when he has attended less than 80% of the sessions programmed in the module. It will not be possible to evaluate the students who do not attend the case views.
