The prerequisites for taking the Module of Tools for understanding the social reality are to have previously studied the theoretical modules of the Master, that is modules 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The objective of this module is to bring students closer to the changes and concrete impacts of the change of time in local realities.
The contents addressed in the module are: Models of municipal organization. Relationship between projects, programs and social plans in the municipal organization and in the deployment of social policies. Relationship between social policies, political order, professional positioning and demands of the population. Limits and opportunities for community action based on its relationship with policies defined supramunicipally.

The teaching methodology combines master classes with case study visits, readings, group practical exercises, tutoring, supervised work for the accomplishment of exercises and the elaboration of works.
The students throughout the development of the module realize visits of case study to concrete experiences. Prior to visits, students receive lectures, readings and complementary audiovisual material, with the objective of providing theoretical elements and analysis to be put into practice or contrast in the visits.
Subsequent to the case study visits, students receive a master class in which they analyze, discuss and contrast the elements covered in the visit.
In the framework of the module also a Reading Seminar is held, where from the reading of a book established by the teaching staff, the content will be dealt with in depth from a participatory methodology, where from the dynamization of the Professor the students will have to contribute their point of view, analysis and opinion argued about the different topics discussed in the book.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

At the end of the module the students will have to present a written work on the contents addressed in the master classes and in the case study visits. The note will be determined by the level of coherence in the argument of the answers based on: the contents exposed in class and in the visistas, the complementary materials (readings / audiovisuals) and the same debates generated in class and within the framework of case study visits.
The students have the spaces in the center where the classes are taught to promote the exchange and shared reflection when doing their jobs.
Prior to submitting the final project, the students will conduct a collective tutoring on the work to be delivered.
Assistance to the activities programmed in this module (two case visits and a reading seminar) is mandatory, absence of any of them must be justified and may not exceed 20%.
A student will be considered a Not avaliable student when he has attended less than 80% of the sessions programmed in the module. It will not be possible to evaluate the students who do not attend the case views.
