Students must have demonstrated that they know the basic principles and methods of work in the fields of Spanish Language, Hispanic Literature and ELE.
The objective of this module is the realization of a work on a subject of one of the knowledge areas about the Spanish language or literature covered by the master.
The work will be submitted in writing and will be defended orally before a court and must show that students have acquired the set of general, transverse and specific skills of the master's degree that empower them to obtain the diploma.
The Master's degree final project is an individual and autonomous work under the supervision of a teacher-tutor assigned from among the teachers of the master. No work done in groups may be submitted. The Master's Thesis consists of the presentation in writing and the oral defense of a topic referred to any of the Master's subjects or their interrelation.
The text of the TFM, together with its oral presentation, will allow to evaluate in a global and synthetic way the student's domain of the specific and transversal skills associated with the Master's degree. Students may select a topic related to Spanish language, Spanish literature, or ELE, taking into account the extensive list of topics offered by the degree.
Exceptionally, some topics that involve initiation in Spanish linguistic or literary research may be proposed.

The TFM will consist of a written work that will be delivered to the master's coordination in order to distribute them to the members of the tribunals at the end of June (to be defended in July) and, exceptionally, at the end of July (to be defended in September, and always with the tutor's approval). The final version of the TFM will have an extension of 35 pages (2100 characters without spaces/page), not including appendices, and will need to conform to academic conventions. The TFM will be written in Spanish. Throughout the first semester, the master's coordination will offer tutoring and research lines to students so that, individually, they can make three proposals for choosing tutors and topics for the TFM. The coordination will assign a tutor according to the choice made and the availability of the teaching staff. The final topic to be developed in the TFM will arise from an agreement between student and tutor, and the student will need to periodically inform the tutor of progress, with a minimum of two compulsory tutorials and two previous assignments, Students will have to deliver to the tutor a first complete version of the TFM on May 31 so that the teachers can correct the work during the month of June. For its part, the tutoring will have to guide, attend to, review the student's work and make a final report of the whole process. For the assessment, it is necessary to prepare a written work and present it publicly and in person (except in exceptional cases with justified reason and with the approval of the tutor and the coordination of the master's degree). The mandatory oral defense will take place before the July closing date (or, exceptionally, in September, before the course closes). The oral presentation of the TFM will last a maximum of 15 minutes (with a final value of 2 points). The evaluation of the written TFM and the oral presentation willbe reflected in a rubric that will be completed by a panel of three members. This commission will take into account the final tutoring report.
The evaluation rubrics must score the following aspects of the written TFM and the oral presentation: · Oral defense (2 points): Expository order and clarity; correctness, fluency and linguistic richness; actio and/or optimal use of support materials; adaptation of the speech to the contents of the TFM and to the established time (15 min. maximum); and adequate and pertinent response to the court's questions. · Written work (8 points): (1) Conception, research design and study (5 points); (2) Written execution of the speech (2 points); and (3) adaptation of the work to the academic style and format of the TFM (1 point). It will be considered that the TFM is not assessable if the student has not completed the minimum number of tutorials with the tutor or the required deliveries, if it is delivered outside the established deadline, if he/she does not have the tutor's approval of defense, if does not comply with the TFM format or if the oral defense does not take place. The Honors Matriculation will be granted to the TFM that has obtained the highest mark, and at the proposal of the evaluating court. In the event that there are more candidates than distinctions, it will be the Master's Teaching Committee who will determine the Honors Matriculation from among the possible works. If the student commits any irregularity that could lead to a significant variation in the grade of an assessment act (copying, plagiarism, undocumented use of AI...), this assessment act will be graded with 0, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be instituted. In the event that several irregularities occur in the evaluation acts of the same subject, the final grade for this subject will be 0.
The TFM must be original and under no circumstances will the total or partial plagiarism of third-party materials published on any medium be admitted. Any submission of non-original material without properly indicating its origin will automatically result in a failure rating (0).
Tutors will provide students with the appropriate bibliography for their TFM topic.
