It is recommended that students have passed the following subjects: Medical Physiology I and II. Human Anatomy: Splanchnology. Medical Psychology. Human Anatomy: Neuroanatomy. Structural and Molecular Pathology. General Pharmacology. Physiopathology and Clinical Semiology. Epidemiology. Bases of Clinical Surgery. Pediatrics.
The student body will acquire the commitment to preserve the confidentiality and professional secrecy of the data to which they may have access due to the learning in the assistance services. You also agree to maintain an attitude of professional ethics in all your actions.
The subject corresponds to the last year of the Degree in Medicine (6th year), once the students already know the scientific foundations of Paediatrics.
The general objective is for students to consolidate previous knowledge and achieve clinical, communication and research and handling skills for scientific information related to Paediatrics:

- Make a diagnosis by knowing how to take a history and establish a differential diagnosis, under the supervision of the teaching staff.
- Make a diagnosis and establish the treatment of a specific pathology, under the supervision of the teaching staff.
- Establish good interpersonal communication that enables you to address patients, relatives, companions, medical team and other healthcare professionals with efficiency and empathy.

- Know the most frequent pathology of the child.
- Know the peculiarities of each pediatric age range.
- Acquire the necessary skills for communication with pediatric patients and their families.
- Acquire the necessary knowledge to discern the degree of severity of patients and be able to prioritize those who require immediate attention.
- Acquire knowledge based on evidence-based medicine to act in the face of different pediatric pathologies.
- Establish a diagnostic algorithm based on the most frequent symptoms and be able to come up with a differential diagnosis of problems.
- Be able to manage non-critical acute situations.
- Be able to handle critical situations that require urgent intervention.
- Know the indications and profitability of the different complementary tests
- Know the necessary materials and the procedures most frequently used in Pediatrics

5% EVALUATION (5 hours)
Exceptionally and according to the criteria of the responsible teaching staff, the available resources and the health situation of each moment in the different Teaching Units, part of the content corresponding to theoretical lessons, practicals and seminars may be taught face-to-face or virtually.
According to the criteria of the responsible teaching staff and according to the resources available in each Teaching Unit, part of the content corresponding to the practical laboratory lessons may be taught and evaluated in the simulation classrooms with the corresponding methodology.
Note: 15 minutes of a class will be set aside, within the calendar established by the center/degree, for students to complete the evaluation surveys of the teachers' performance and the evaluation of the subject/ module.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The student will be considered suitable if he reaches a total score equal to or higher than 11/16
DEFINITIONS OF THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS
Attendance and punctuality: it will be assessed that the students have attended regularly every day of the rotation and that in case of absence they have given notice.
Attitude: it will be valued that the student is willing to learn, that he knows and reviews the clinical cases, that he asks questions and shows a positive attitude towards learning.
Participation and integration: The responsibility of the students in the tasks that the tutor requests, the ability to work in a team and the opinions that they provide in a session or in other assistance activities will be assessed.
Initiative: It will be assessed if the student is curious to learn, read the protocols of the service, the diagnostic and treatment guides.
Communication: It will be assessed if the student is able to synthesize and communicate a clinical case to teammates in a clinical session of the service
CLINICAL CASE PRESENTATION: Clinical case presentation will be evaluated during the rotation, in the form of written work and/or oral presentation.

The evaluation represents 5% of the 4 ECTS (100 hours), i.e. 5 hours. It is a practical evaluation.
Students who do not take the evaluation tests detailed above both in the Hospital and in the ACOES will be considered as Not evaluated exhausting their rights to enroll in the subject. The special situations will be evaluated individually in a committee that includes the people responsible for this subject.
This subject does not provide the single assessment system.
