Prerequisites

The prerequisites are those established by the regulations of the degree and of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in relation to Professional Work Placements: the general requirement established by the UAB Standing Regulations (section c), according to which "in order to enrol in fourth-year degree subjects, you must have passed at least all the first-year subjects and a total of 120 credits from the first three years". If students wish to do the practicals during the second semester of the third year, they must have passed a minimum of 120 credits.

Access to the Interships course is by means of a pre-enrolment process that follows a timetable that is published every year. You can consult the calendar at the following link: https://www.uab.cat/web/estudiar/graus/graus/informacio-1345722449027.html
Failure to complete the pre-enrolment process makes it impossible to enrol in the External Practicals course. Only students who have pre-enrolled within the established deadline will be assigned an internship place.

The timetable for internships must be compatible with the student's academic, training, representation and participation activities at the University. The timetable will be established according to the characteristics of the practices and according to the availability of the collaborating entity.

Content

The Professional Internships course aims to promote the comprehensive training of students through the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the degree, facilitating direct contact and incorporation into the professional world with a minimum of experience. They represent a decisive opportunity for the personal development and professional future of the students. The internships are designed so that students gain professional experience in real situations. They are activities that are carried out in companies, institutions and organisations with the aim of enriching and complementing their university training, while at the same time providing them with a deeper knowledge of the skills they will need once they have graduated. The student therefore carries out a supervised activity in companies or institutions related to the professional objectives of the degree and the objectives of the institution/company. The student is introduced to the business or institutional dynamics, discovering the internal workings of the organisation, collaborating in the design, development and implementation of the project. They work on the design, implementation and evaluation of projects, participate in the organisation of academic events, take part in the creation of databases and promote research activities, among other tasks to be carried out in the fields of history, economics and politics.

The internship is an optional course of 12 ECTS credits with the following distribution of hours: 270 hours at the internship site + 30 hours of training at the UAB, complementary activities, etc. according to the needs of the internship.
