Content

The External Internship is of 150 hours, of which 130 are hours of internship and the other 20 are hours of training and completion of the internship report. There is no specific and concrete content because it will depend on the center and the type of work to be carried out there.
The institutions in which to intern can be chosen by the student from among the entities, services or companies he/she knows or be assigned by the internship tutor according to the internship locations available in the internal database and the interest of the student.
Some of the internship locations available for the 2024-2025 school year include:

  • Different City Councils and other public administration bodies
  • NGOs in the field of intervention with women victims of male violence
  • NGOs that work with international projects
  • Companies
  • Gender Consultancies
  • Youth organizations
  • Research groups of the Autonomous University.

Places for the External Internships will be assigned according to the students' future work interest.
Carrying out the External Internships and passing them guarantee:

• The student's contact, during the training period, with a work area of interest;
• Knowledge of the tasks associated with this area;
• The acquisition of work experience in a professional sector related to socio-cultural gender studies.

Activities and Methodology

Title Hours ECTS Learning Outcomes
Type: Autonomous
Autonomous work 150 6

The characteristics and methodology of independent work depend on the center where the internships are carried out.

The tutorials, individual or group, are based on explaining what the External Internships consist of, accompanying the process of reflection on professional practice, providing support in the process of assigning internships and monitoring their course, as well as the your final evaluation.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

Continous Assessment Activities

Title Weighting Hours ECTS Learning Outcomes
External tutoring report 70% 0 0 5, 7, 9, 10
Internal tutoring report 10% 0 0 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 11
Work Placement Report 20% 0 0 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11

The external practices will be supervised by a professor, who will introduce the student to the person in charge of carrying out the supervision within the chosen institution.  Once the internship stay is over, the teacher will evaluate the performance according to the student’s report (delivered according to the established model) and the report of the supervisor of the institution (which also follows a model).

 The following should be noted:

  • Any student who has not completed 10% of the face-to-face hours established in the agreement will be rated as “Not evaluable”.
  • It will be classified as a “Fail” when the student has attended a 10% of the total hours, but has not completed the hours established in the agreement. This will also happen in the event that the student receives a negative evaluation.
  • Given the heterogeneity of the evaluation of the practicum, and the optional nature of this qualification, no Honors will be awarded.
  • The practicum cannot be retaken.

In the event of a student committing any irregularity that may lead to a significant variation in the grade awarded to an assessment activity, the student will be given a zero for this activity, regardless of any disciplinary process that may take place. In the event of several irregularities in assessment activities, the student will receive a zero as the final grade for the class.

This subject does not incorporate single assessment.

Bibliography

Specific bibliography will be given for each place of external practices chosen.
