The objective of the subject is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge, framed in the specific training of the private detective, in areas of knowledge that are specific to their professional practice. In this sense, the theoretical knowledge on which the functions and competencies of private detectives are based will be developed, its practical application in the professional field will be determined and the development and content of the reports derived from the investigations carried out will be argued.
The general training objectives of the subject are specified:
- Improvement of the ability to learn, the ability to analyse and apply knowledge in practice.
- Development of creative and entrepreneurial capacity: ability to formulate, design and manage projects, ability to search for and process information and the ability to assimilate new knowledge.
- Be able to analyse, synthesize and select the essential information for the technical development of specific cases and to know its influence and significance on safety and research.
- Assimilate the theoretical and practical content of those most transcendental and current professional tasks that are directly related to the profession of the private detective.
- To know the relevance of the topics dealt with in operations research and to be able to define the way to act in accordance with the specific legislation of each subject.
- Development of critical and self-critical capacity and the ability to show coherent attitudes in accordance with ethical and deontological concepts.
The content of the subject will deal with the functions of detectives in the field of private investigation; techniques, tools and sources of information used in the exercise of the profession, in accordance with current regulations. New trends in the world of private investigation.

Lectures will be conducted according to a magistral methodology where the teacher will expose the theoretical aspects of subject of study. On practical sessions the students will work individually or in team, discussing and solving specific cases. Theoretical knowledge will be evaluated through writing tests. Practical skills will be evaluated through elaboration of tasks.
Furthermore, every student will search for documentation and will elaborate personal work about lectures conducted during the course.
The tutorials with the Professor concluded by email.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Evaluation:
Throughout the semester students will carry out written tests of a theoretical nature that will have a weight of 50% of the final grade as well as a practical nature that will have the value of the remaining 50%. In order for the mark from the practical part to be added to the theoretical part, it will be necessary for the student to obtain a 3.5 out of 10 in the totality of the theoretical part.
Re-evaluation:
In case of not passing the subject according to the aforementioned criteria (continuous evaluation), a recovery test may be done on the date scheduled in the schedule, and it will cover the entire contents of the program. To participate in the recovery the students must have been previously evaluated in a set of activities, the weight of which equals a minimum of two thirds of the total grade of the subject. However, the qualification that will consist of the student's file is a maximum of 5-Approved.
Students who need to change an evaluation date must submit the request by filling in the document that you will find in the moodle space of Tutorial EPSI.
Students that retake the course:
Regarding those students who have to retake the course, it should be emphasized that the assessment methodology is the same as for other students.
Plagiarism:
Without prejudice to other disciplinary measures deemed appropriate, and in accordance with current academic regulations, "in the event that the student makes any irregularity that could lead to a significant variation in the grade of an evaluation act, it will be graded with a 0 This evaluation act, regardless of the disciplinary process that can be instructed In case of various irregularities occur in the evaluation acts of the same subject, the final grade of this subject will be 0 ". The tests / exams may be written and / or oral at the discretion of the teaching staff.
Single assessment:
Students who opt for the single assessment will take a final synthesis test of all the content of the subject, both theoretical and practical. The date for this test will be the same scheduled in the schedule for the last continuous assessment exam. Students who want to take the single assessment must request it within the official period established for it. In the event that you do not do so, you will lose the opportunity for a single evaluation. The same recovery system will be applied as for the continuous evaluation.
Recommended and compulsory readings will be provided throughout the semester.
