Objectives and Contextualisation

The TFM seeks to deepen the preparation for a professional activity that contributes to developing their professional skills and applying the knowledge acquired during the training program carried out. The TFM aims to help interrelate the different learnings and subordinate them to the resolution of practical problems. The objective is to develop a research and/or innovation project on mediation in a specific context that brings into play all the skills and content developed throughout the different modules of the master's degree. This project must promote processes of reflection, innovation, and generation of ideas in mediation through the development and elaboration of a research task.

  • Demonstrate reflective and critical reasoning: analysis, synthesis and conclusions.
  • Plan and carry out research and disseminate the culture of mediation.
  • Solve problems effectively in a contextualised manner and with social responsibility.
  • Solve problems in new or little-known situations within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
  • Students should know how to communicate their conclusions, knowledge and final reasoning that they hold in front of specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously.
  • That students are able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity and formulate judgments based on information that was incomplete or limited, include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
  • Use acquired knowledge as a basis for originality in the application of ideas, often in a research context.

  7. Design activities for disseminating the culture of mediation.
  8. Identify the multiple views and perspectives that make up socio-educational situations.
  9. Identify the options for mediation in complex contexts.

  11. Make adequate use of the resources, methods, channels and media for effective communication with different audiences.
  12. Make appropriate selections of sources and methods to obtain the necessary information in each circumstance.
  13. Make decision in complex situations, evaluating the possible consequences.
  14. Plan objectives and resources to ensure the fulfilment of the task or action.
  15. Produce and communicate a report of the results.
  16. Recognise and express opinions assertively and respectfully.
  17. Reflect, on the basis of founded knowledge and scientific evidence, on not accepting ideas alone.

  • The methodological specificities depending on the research topic
  • Procedure for collecting information and data analysis
  • The writing and dissemination of the research report

Methodology

The TFM is proposed as a project of innovation and achievement of a professional and institutional reality, related to the theme of training carried out and the execution of which implies processes of diagnosis, application and evaluation. To develop it, we start from the idea that each project is unique and requires individualized and contextualized attention. The TFM is able to focus on proposals for intervention related to family mediation and to the area of private law, considering both application of protocols with the organization, management and resolution proposals of conflicting situations mediated by mediation.

Students will have 15 days to present an initial proposal (approximately 1 full), which will include the title, author and a brief description of the mediation activity to be delved into. The proposal will be sent to the Coordination of the training program on the indicated date. This first proposal will be analyzed by the Coordination to verify if it is suitable for the formatted program and will serve to assign a tutor, which is to communicate the interests.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

The presentation and defense will allow the teaching staff of the training program to assess the degree of integration of the knowledge acquired and the maturity when addressing real problems of a professional nature.

The TFM will be presented, during the month of September 2024, to a panel who will coordinate the program each academic year among the professors responsible for the TFM. The presentation and defense of the Project will not be accepted if the activities scheduled in the different modules of the training program have not been successfully completed. The TFM will be evaluated by a minimum of two teachers of the training program.

Copying or plagiarism, in any type of assessment test, constitutes a crime, and will be penalized with a 0 as a grade for the subject, losing the possibility of recovering it. A work or activity will be considered "copied" when it reproduces all or a significant part of the work of another colleague. A work or activity will be considered "plagiarized" when a part of an author's text is presented as one's own without citing the sources, regardless of whether the original sources are on paper or in digital format. https://wuster.uab.es/web_argumenta_obert/unit_20/sot_2_01.html

In all activities, linguistic correction, writing and formal aspects of presentation will be taken into account. Students must be able to express themselves fluently and correctly and must show a high degree of understanding of academic texts.
The TFM mark will be established following the proportions detailed in the table of assessment activities.

This module does not accept single evaluation.
