Prerequisites

The module must be taken after having completed – or being enrolled in – the rest of the credits corresponding to the Psychosocial and Community Intervention itinerary.


Objectives and Contextualisation

  • Use the tools acquired for the detection of needs and evaluation of the demands present in the specific intervention field.
  • Apply appropriate intervention and evaluation techniques for the problems and situations identified, and the action plans developed.
  • Adapt your knowledge to the needs and procedures of the placement center.
  • Work in a team, coordinating, collaborating and communicating clearly with the placement center’s staff.
  • Respond and act appropriately and professionally, taking into account the ethical and political implications of your own performance and that of the rest of the team.

Competences

  • Defend and justify arguments with clarity and precision, so appropriate to the context, valuing the contributions of others.
  • Establish operational objectives substantiated theoretically and socially relevant to take into account the complexity of the psychosocial reality.
  • Integrate knowledge and use it to make judgements in complex situations, with incomplete information, while keeping in mind social and ethical responsibilities.
  • Selecting and applying necessary for collection, analysis and presentation of empirical material qualitative techniques.
  • Solve problems in new or little-known situations within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
  • Teamwork, creating synergies in working environments that involve different people working in a coordinated and collaborative.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply techniques for collecting information on the practice plan made for further evaluation
  2. Defend and justify arguments with clarity and precision, so appropriate to the context, valuing the contributions of others.
  3. Design, together with professionals from the center of external practices, intervention goals from demands and situations
  4. Integrate knowledge and use it to make judgements in complex situations, with incomplete information, while keeping in mind social and ethical responsibilities.
  5. Propose a method for diagnosis of psychosocial problems addressed in practice
  6. Solve problems in new or little-known situations within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to the field of study.
  7. Teamwork, creating synergies in working environments that involve different people working in a coordinated and collaborative.

Content

The external placements will be undertaken in centers where psychosocial intervention activities are carried out. The students will be incorporated into a project developed by the center and must carry out professional activities according to the objectives of the center, putting into practice the knowledge acquired in relation to social intervention.


Methodology

Activities in the placement center will be between 200 - 225 hours, depending on the cooperation agreement that is defined in each case.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

Practice report: an individual written report that will include an analysis of the internship, as well as the student's field diary.

Center tutor report: it consists of an assessment template (quantitative and qualitative) of the execution of the student during the internship.

UAB tutor report: it is a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the student's academic achievement in relation to their internship.

 

Note: In the case of external placements, the option of a single assessment is not available.
