Prerequisites

No special requirement is needed. The schedules are to be agreed with the supervisor of the research line. In cases where you have a work schedule  outside the master,it is recommended to send an e-mail to the person in charge of the research. before opting for a particular line of research

Objectives and Contextualisation

The aim of this subject is to acquire basic research skills. The students join a research team and their function will be to collaborate, taking responsibility for specific tasks of the team's work. Under the supervision of a researcher, the student will learn in a practical and critical way the bases of scientific work.

  • Master the skills and resources necessary to teamwork and multidisciplinary groups.
  • That the students can apply their knowledge and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Ask relevant questions and adequately defined research objectives and hypotheses to solve problems in the context of research practicum.
  2. Conduct a critical reading of a scientific publication on the basis of methodological quality of the research design used and the scientific practice of their results or contributions, in the context of research practicum and relevance.
  3. Conduct a research plan minimizing threats to validity, in the context of research practicum.
  4. Conduct a systematic review to summarize the best available evidence in the context of research practicum.
  5. Design or adapt techniques and instruments to collect information according to the standards of development of measuring instruments in the context of the research practicum.
  6. Discriminate what methods, quantitative, qualitative or mixed, and research designs are better suited to meet a goal or hypothesis in the context of research practicum.
  7. Knowledge and understanding that provide a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and / or applying ideas, often in a research context.
  8. Manage, analyze and interpret data optimally an investigation, in the context of research practicum ..
  9. Proper use of procedures and technologies for effective communication between professionals in the context of research practicum.
  10. Select and evaluate their quality, procedures, techniques and more appropriate in light of the objectives or hypothesis in the context of research practicum measuring instruments.

  12. Use the documentary sources to obtain relevant information in the context of research practicum, selecting the most appropriate and arguing screening criteria and quality of them.

Content

The list of the research lines and available places will be published on the Moodle platform at the beginning of the course

Methodology

The student is integrated into a line of research and participates in activities that the supervisor deems appropriate based on the state of research and student training

N.B. The proposed teaching and assessment methodologies may experience some modifications as a result of the restrictions on face-to-face learning imposed by the health authorities.
The teaching staff will use the Moodle classroom or the usual communication channel to specify whether the different directed and assessment activities are to be carried out on site or online, as instructed by the Faculty.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

 
The assistance, dedication and efficiency in the participation of the student as well as the formative results obtained in the oral and written presentations are assessed.
 

No unique final synthesis test for students who enrole for the second time or more is anticipated.
