Prerequisites

In order to attend this subject, students must master the Spanish language and must have acquired the skills at the grade level that allow them to apply the techniques and methods of analysis of linguistic phenomena, both from the synchronic and diachronic point of view.

Objectives and Contextualisation

The module aims to study the characteristics of the Spanish language from a systemic point of view, especially the lexicon and grammar.

Competences

  • Descriure l'estructura de la llengua espanyola.
  • Que els estudiants siguin capaços d'integrar coneixements i enfrontar-se a la complexitat de formular judicis a partir d'una informació que, tot i ser incompleta o limitada, inclogui reflexions sobre les responsabilitats socials i ètiques vinculades a l'aplicació dels seus coneixements i judicis.
  • Que els estudiants sàpiguen aplicar els coneixements adquirits i la seva capacitat de resolució de problemes en entorns nous o poc coneguts dins de contextos més amplis (o multidisciplinaris) relacionats amb la seva àrea d'estudi.
  • Que els estudiants tinguin les habilitats d'aprenentatge que els permetin continuar estudiant, en gran manera, amb treball autònom a autodirigit.
  • Realitzar una exposició oral sobre qualsevol tema relacionat amb l'àmbit d'estudis del màster.
  • Relacionar els autors i els textos literaris escrits en espanyol amb les recerques recents sobre les tradicions europees des de l'Edat Mitjana fins a l'actualitat.
  • Tenir coneixements que aportin la base o l'oportunitat de ser originals en el desenvolupament o l'aplicació d'idees, sovint en un context de recerca.
  • Utilitzar els recursos bibliogràfics i tecnològics propis de la recerca lingüística i literària.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Aplicar els conceptes i les eines que capaciten per a l'argumentació gramatical a l'anàlisi de les dades de l'espanyol.
  2. Argumentar la pertinència dels judicis propis i dels aliens en relació amb el tema objecte d'estudi.
  3. Argumentar la pertinència dels judicis propis i la dels aliens en relació amb el problema lingüístic objecte d'estudi.
  4. Distingir els aspectes sistemàtics de l'espanyol dels aspectes normatius.
  5. Emmarcar tipològicament els principals fenòmens característics de la llengua espanyola i relacionar-los amb fenòmenos similars d'altres llengües.
  6. Formular un pla d'acció per ampliar la informació sobre un tema lingüístic específic.
  7. Gestionar i interpretar de forma crítica la bibliografia i la informació recollides sobre problemes lingüístics concrets de la llengua espanyola.
  8. Identificar els indicis lingüístics que permeten inserir un autor o un text literari en un gènere o un corrent determinats en funció dels seus usos del llenguatge segons les recerques fetes en aquest camp.
  9. Indagar les diferents perspectives des de les quals s'han explicat els fenòmens lingüístics objecte d'estudi.
  10. Introduir una nova idea en un esquema preestablert i predir les conseqüències que això portaria en la defensa d'una tesi determinada.
  11. Planificar una exposició oral l'objectiu de la qual sigui defensar la pròpia posició respecte a un dels temes d'estudi del màster.
  12. Proposar una forma d'integrar les idees procedents d'altres disciplines al tractament d'un fenomen lingüístic o literari determinat.
  13. Proposar una manera d'integrar les idees procedents d'altres disciplines sobre un determinat fenomen des d'una perspectiva lingüística o literària.

Methodology

The learning of this subject by the students is distributed as follows:

  • Directed activities (35%). These activities are divided into master classes and seminars and classroom practices led by the teachers.
  • Supervised activities (10%). It involves tutorials with the teachers.
  • Autonomous activities (50%). These activities include both time devoted to individual study and production of papers and analytical comments written, as well as oral presentations.
  • Evaluation activities (5%). The evaluation of the subject will be carried out through participation in class and the completion of written tests.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

The course is made up of two parts and will have two different evaluations. Each of the parts will be equal to 50% of the course grade.

										
											The characteristics of the evaluation of each of the parts will be indicated at the beginning of course.

In order to pass the subject it is necessary to obtain an average grade of 5 or higher than 5. 

The average of the grades will be taken just in case none of the grades obtained is below 3.5.
