Objectives and Contextualisation

The aim to the course is debate and analyze the imbalance in the information cover, to propose dinamic actions to improve the CSR in the media and in the media corporations.

Competences

  • Analyse the new forms of social communication introduced by ICT (information and communication technologies) in order to innovate in media and cultural production and solve the problems posed in the new environments.
  • Continue the learning process, to a large extent autonomously.
  • Lead and work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Plan and lead basic and applied research projects in media communication and culture.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate media communication strategies to construct complex informational topics.
  • Use acquired knowledge as a basis for originality in the application of ideas, often in a research context.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Continue the learning process, to a large extent autonomously.
  2. Designing research projects related to the social responsibility of business communication
  3. Diagnosing networks and initiatives of citizen media and community media
  4. Direct and edit proposals for social content for mass media
  5. Direct and publish offers of alternative content, both institutional and public.
  6. Evaluate the journalistic quality from the point of view of professional and ethical media content
  7. Identify bad practices in the activity of media companies according to the principles of corporate responsibility.
  8. Lead and work in interdisciplinary teams.
  9. Planning studies and multidisciplinary team in the field of social communication
  10. Use acquired knowledge as a basis for originality in the application of ideas, often in a research context.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.
