Prerequisites

Have passed the subject “History of audiovisuals stories” ( 2nd year , Annual, OB)

Objectives and Contextualisation

Familiarize and train students with the tools of analysis of a film.
 
Train students to use the aforementioned tools.
 
Provide students with elements of theoretical reflection on any cinematographic work.
 
Student learning about the meaning of different film aesthetic models.

Methodology

The subject of "Film Theory and Analysis" is constituted by theoretical classes, seminars and presentations and tutorials

Programation of the subject:

The calendar will be available on the first day of class. Students will find all information on the Virtual Campus: the description of the activities, teaching materials, and any necessary information for the proper follow-up of the subject. In case of a change of teaching modality for health reasons, teachers will make readjustments in the schedule and methodologies.

Assessment

 
The subject consists of the following evaluation activities:
- The presentation of an individual essay. This activity represents 50% of the final grade
- The group selection and presentation in a seminar based on a topic proposed and previously agreed with the teacher. This exhibition represents 30% of the final grade. There will be an attendance check and if you have not repeatedly assisted, there will be a penalty of 50% of the percentage obtained in this activity.
- A written test with notes made in a group or individually, which represents 20% of the final mark.
The three activities must be approved in order to pass the subject.
 
Revaluation: The students that have suspended the essay can recover it as long as the mark obtained is equivalent to 20% of the final mark. In the case of the seminars or the test, the note that must be obtained to be able to opt for the recovery must be 10% of the final mark
There are no activities excluded from the recovery. If the three activities have not been approved the subject will be suspended.
 
Irregularities
The student who performs any irregularity (copy, plagiarism, impersonation, ...) that can lead to a significant variation of the qualification of an evaluation act, will be qualified with 0 this act
of evaluation. In case there are several irregularities, the final grade of the subject will be 0.
