Prerequisites

Knowledge of the history of cinema and audiovisual language. English knowledge for reading and viewing media projects.

Objectives and Contextualisation

Know the history of the documentary and learn the languages and specificities to develop the ability to make critical and imaginative documentary projects.

Methodology

The sessions of the subject will be conducted through different types of activities, grouped in lectures, seminars and laboratory practices consisting of the elaboration of a documentary and complementary pieces, in accordance with the parameters specified in the theoretical part.

The proposed teaching methodology and evaluation activities may undergo some modifications depending on the health authorities' attendance restrictions.

The calendar will be available on the first day of class. Students will find all information on the Virtual Campus: the description of the activities, teaching materials, and any necessary information for the proper follow-up of the subject. In case of a change of teaching modality for health reasons, teachers will make readjustments in the schedule and methodologies.

Assessment

The teaching methodology and the proposed evaluation may undergo some modification depending on the restrictions on attendance that the health authorities impose.

The competences of this subject will be evaluated through different procedures:

- Written evidence (30%)

- Practices (50%)

- Seminars (20%)

It is necessary to pass the exam and practical work to do the average and pass the subject. Students will be entitled to the revaluation of the subject. They should present a minimum of activities that equals two-thirds of the total grading. To have access to revaluation, the previous grades should be 3.5. The activities that are excluded from the revaluation process are seminars.

The student who performs any irregularity (copy, plagiarism, identity theft...) will be qualified with 0 in this assignment or exam. In case there are several irregularities, the final grade of the subject will be 0.
