Prerequisites

Knowledge of the Master's Degree in Digital Humanities and Heritage. In general, knowledge is required at the undergraduate level in disciplines of Human and/or Social Sciences. The training can also be useful to graduates in computer science who want to specialize in the use of digital technologies in the field of Humanities and cultural studies. Acquaintance with the most common computers and office suites is required. Although it is not mandatory, prior training is recommended, at a basic level, in the use of computerized databases, computer-assisted cartography, digital photography and statistics.

Objectives and Contextualisation

The "External Practices" module provides for the mandatory realization of specific practices in various public and private cultural institutions, where students can practice different activities related to the knowledge acquired and the skills developed during theoretical-practical teaching. The practical activities are adjusted to one stipulated in the PC3 process. Management of external internships in the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UAB. In accordance with the IQAS declaration process, the training objectives of the internships external to your child:

4. Obtain a practical experience that facilitates the insertion of students in the labour market and improve their future employment.

5. Promote the acquisition and implementation of values of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Given the mandatory nature of the internship, the coordination of the degree undertakes to provide an adequate place in a cultural institution or research group, attending to the possible interests and requests of the students, but attending to the availability and memories of collaboration subscribed each year with different institutions. In the event that more than one student is interested in the same position in a specific institution or group, the coordination of the degree, in collaboration with the teaching committee and the institution involved, will enable a concurrence mechanism that takes into account the student's technical knowledge, academic record and previous professional experience.

Content

The Faculty of Letters of the UAB maintains collaboration agreements for teaching practices with various cultural institutions that will change every year. There is also the possibility of doing the internship in research laboratories of the UAB. At the beginning of the course, students will be called with the list of available places and the topics and projects that can be carried out in each one. If a student believes that some practical activity can be done in an institution that is not in the initial list, the possibility of signing an agreement with the institution will be evaluated. If it could not be signed in the available time, the student must choose an activity from among the offers.
