Content

These internships, regulated by the corresponding agreements, delve into the tasks typical of prestigious companies, institutions, or research centers that carry out activities directly related to the subjects taught in the master’s program, so that the student—who is recommended to have previously completed the Professional Practices course—can expand their knowledge, skills, and professional or research competencies in order to act with sound judgment, autonomy, and decision-making ability when solving professional challenges. Since the student will have already completed prior internships, they may be assigned more advanced responsibilities, such as designing linguistic and literary research tasks, sociolinguistic projects, or literary promotion and dissemination activities to society, or performing specific tasks related to linguistic correction and advising, data selection and evaluation, or the management of bibliographic databases, among others.

The teaching methodology of the Professional Internship module is based, on the one hand, on completing the internship at the assigned company or institution and, on the other hand, on writing a report that describes and assesses the tasks learned and put into practice (1.000 words). The student’s total commitment to the external internship is 125 hours, which includes 10 hours dedicated to preparing the report.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

Continous Assessment Activities

Tutor report 50% 0 0 CA28, CA29, CA30, KA38, KA39, SA40, SA41, SA42

The evaluation of the internships will be based, on the one hand, on a report issued by the internship tutor appointed by the company or institution (50%) and, on the other hand, on the assessment of the report by the tutor(s) appointed by the university (50%).

At the time of each assessment activity, the professor will inform the students (via Moodle) about the procedure and the date for reviewing the grades.

The grade of "Honors" will not be awarded due to the discretionary nature of this grade and the heterogeneity of this subject across different degree programs in the Faculty. The Professional Practices course cannot be retaken if the student receives a "Fail" grade.

The student will receive a grade of "Not assessable" if they have completed less than 30% of the assessment activities.

If the student commits any irregularity that could lead to a significant change in the grade of an assessment activity, that activity will be graded as 0, regardless of any disciplinary process that may be initiated. If multiple irregularities occur in the assessment activities of the same subject, the final grade for that subject will be 0.

This subject does not include a single evaluation system.
