To register for these course one must contact the Masters coordinator so that the profile of the student who requests to do an internship and the suitability of the internship in connection to the competences and the learning outcomes of the Masters programme can be evaluated.
Depending on the work to be carried out and / or the place assigned, a certain command of a foreign language and or Catalan / Spanish may be required (the latter is of special interest for students of foreign origin). An internship at a previously selected entity may be denied in the event that the language requirement cannot be guaranteed. It is also advisable to have your own car and / or to be able to access public transport with some ease because most likely the practices will involve having to travel regularly. Finally, it is also recommended to have a digital signature (this greatly speeds up the processing of the internship agreement).
Although the Department of Geography will offer a list of places where to develop the practices, it is also recommended that the student look for their own contacts; This way you can ensure that you will end up doing the internship where you really want.
The objective of the course is to do an individual stay under the supervision of a tutor in a private sector company or public entity, in which they must take charge of the tasks entrusted to them and that prior agreement with the coordinator of the subject, will be related to any of the topics related to the contents of the master's degree.
The choice of the assigned internship center will be made taking into account the interests expressed by the student as well as the needs of the place and the real possibilities in accordance with the agreements signed with the Department of Geography.
Carrying out an internship in a company or entity of the private or public sector, under the supervision of a tutor and the coordinator of the subject. The stay is usually during the second semester although there is the possibility of doing the internship before, and its duration is determined by the total number of credits of the subject (6), or 150 hours. They can even be done during the summer of the enrolled academic year, but in any case they must be completed before the start of the new academic year (usually the 1st week of September at the latest). It must be taken into account that not all the theoretical hours of the credits will be allocated to the stay, strictu sensu, in the workplace but that a small part has also been allocated to a presentation meeting of the subject, to the writing of the follow-up and end-of-practice reports. In total, around 140 hours are counted.
The internship will have to be in a company or entity in which it is really feasible for the student to do the internship in person (at least in part). In principle, those agreements that involve online internships in their entirety will be ruled out.
The entities with which we have collaborated in the last courses are these:
In any case, every year we work to expand the list of companies and entities and offer students a wide range of possibilities.

It must be taken into account that there will be a Moodle space in which the main reference documents of the subject will be published (agreement models, reports, list of confirmed internships, a control table or monitoring of practices for each of the students, etc.). The student will have to consult and / or download them with a certain frequency.
ATTENTION: the possibility of having to do the practices on line, in part, should not be ruled out.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The evaluation of the practices consists of:
It should also be borne in mind that during the internship period, the student will have to submit two follow-up reports, the first one once 10% of the total hours have been completed and the second one with 75% completed. Its purpose is to detect possible anomalies or aspects that do not conform to the agreements of the internship agreement, and to try to correct them in time.
It must be taken into account that this subject does not contemplate the possibility of a single evaluation, as stated here: https://www.uab.cat/doc/AvaluacioUnica_MU_Estudis_Territorials_Planejament
No Matrícula d’Honor grade is awarded due to the optional nature of this grade and the heterogeneity of this subject in the different degrees taught in the Faculty.
