Prerequisites
Fourth-year optional subject in the area of physical geography. The syllabus for this subject is based on the content taught in the compulsory subjects of the first three years of the degree. If a student has one or more subjects from previous courses without passing, he or she must talk to the teacher before enrolling.
Objectives and Contextualisation
The main objective of this subject is for students to acquire the necessary knowledge to have a critical view of territorial planning and to be able to value the environmental content with which the territory is structured.
To achieve this main objective, the following objectives are proposed during the course:
- Analyze territorial and urban planning from an environmental point of view
- Analyze environmental protection at international, European and national level
- Work on the landscape concept from a regulatory point of view
- Develop the tools to assess the environmental impact of regulatory processes
Learning Outcomes
- CM17 (Competence) Develop proposals for action and intervention in the territory that address socio-environmental problems.
- KM23 (Knowledge) Describe the dynamics and effects of global change from the natural, socio-economic and cultural systems.
- SM17 (Skill) Carry out proposals for local management and development, identifying the values of the landscape based on knowledge of the relationships between nature and society.

In the first sessions of the subject, the theoretical training is done to give way to a field trip and the preparation of an Impact Study and Landscape Integration that will be followed by the tutorials. These tutorials will be: a) working group, and b) joint with a representative from each group.
At the beginning of the course, the teacher will explain the protocol of measures and good practices for field trips.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The evaluation of the subject is based on:
Face-to-face examination of the theoretical content
Elaboration of a course work
Public presentation of work
Field trip
All the evaluable activities can be recovered, except for the presentations made in the classroom, which do not have the possibility of being made outside of the initial assignment, the field trip, which for obvious reasons only takes place on the day it is scheduled, and the tutorials
To pass the subject you must have a minimum grade of 3.5 in each of the three evaluable activities, regardless of the weight they have in the final grade, and have attended the field trip and the tutorials inexcusably.
The grade of Not Assessable will be obtained if no activity has been delivered or only the first activity has been delivered. Therefore, having delivered two or more activities implies that the course has been followed and the grade to be obtained will be that of passed (10-5) or that of suspended (4.8-0).
Finally, the student must be aware of the face-to-face activities of compulsory attendance, without which they will not be able to have the final assessment of the subject:

- Evaluation and, where applicable, also re-evaluation
At the time of carrying out each assessment activity, the teacher will inform the students (Moodle) of the procedure and date of review of the qualifications.
Copying or plagiarizing material, both in the case of assignments and in the case of exams, constitutes a crime that will be sanctioned with a zero for the activity. In case of recidivism, the entire subject will be suspended. Remember that work that reproduces all or a large part of another colleague's work is considered a "copy". "Plagiarism" is the act of presenting all or part of an author's text as one's own, without citing the sources, whether on paper or in digital format.
