The objective of this module is for students to acquire knowledge of the distinctive nature of research in the different areas of theoretical, descriptive and applied study within translation studies and intercultural studies.
The module is organised around seminars on research carried out in the different areas of translation studies and intercultural studies, and the specific methods and resources used in each case. Its content encompasses the translation of specialised texts; the translation of literary texts; the translation of audiovisual texts and accessibility; interpreting; ICTs applied to translation; translator and interpreter training; the history of translation and interpreting; interculturalism, ideology and the sociology of translation; gender and translation; cognition in translation; and professional and occupational aspects of translation.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.
