No previous knowledge is required.
Objectives
The curriculum of the Master in International Relations, Security and Development contemplates the possibility of carrying out a corresponding optional module Professional Work Experiences (PWE) of 10 ECTS credits. PWE consist of a stay in an organization, institution or company with which the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology has signed a collaboration agreement. The purpose of these practices is both formative and professional.
PWE in workplaces constitute a training offer, where students exercise different ways of learning from the usual training activities. Its main objective is to facilitate the development of practical skills and application of students' knowledge. For these purposes, it seeks to generate agreements with institutions in the fields of international relations, security and development, so that the students of the program can participate in the usual work activities of the institutions either by participating in a specific unit or area of the host institution or in a specific project.

The choice of the institution and the affiliation process:
The procedure for assigning students to PWE is as follows: students will receive during the month of December a list of institutions that offer places and will have to indicate their preferences in order of priority. When choosing a place, you must take into account the specific conditions and requirements that are requested for each one of them.
From the Master's Coordination the students will be assigned to their respective Occupational Practices positions according to a double criterion academic record and suitability according to academic and professional background (specialization in studies, previous work experience, etc.). This in general is done in conjunction with the host institutions, the criteria are priority. In fact, you usually have to have a pre-selection interview at the host institution, as part of your selection process.
Methodology
Duration
The PWE of the MURISD have a duration of 25 hours of work per ECTS credit (10 ECTS), which are usually carried out in a period of between 3 and 6 months depending on the timetables.
At this time, the final Work/"Memoria" that each student must complete is included, which is essential for the evaluation of their practices. The students have a maximum period of two weeks after completing the practices to deliver their final Work of the same.
Calendar
The standard period for the beginning of the practices is at the beginning of each year, although there is the possibility of seeking other periods of mutual agreement between the Master, the host institution and the interested persons. However, the maximum term to conclude the practices is September of the same year in which they were initiated.
Tutor
The host institution appoints a tutor of the internship. In addition to directing the work of the person in the institution, the Tutor will oversee the development of the activities that the student will prepare at the beginning of the practices. It will also complete a brief final report of practices.
Likewise, the Master will also assign an academic tutor.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.
