Students must have officially enrolled on the master’s degree programme in Translation and Intercultural Studies in the current academic year.
This module’s general objective is for students to learn to perform specialised legal, technical and audiovisual translations. Its specific objectives to that end are for them to translate legal, technical and audiovisual texts, in their respective language combinations; to detect and solve translation problems in specialised legal, technical and audiovisual texts, in their respective language combinations; and to be aware of the main aspects of the labour market as far as specialised legal, technical and audiovisual translation in their respective language combinations is concerned.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment is continuous.
Possible assessment activities:
Real or simulated translation tasks, or tasks related to relevant aspects of translation.
Translation projects.
Reports / forum activity on translations or on tasks related to relevant aspects of translation.
Diaries / worksheets / reports with reflections on the learning process or the translation process.
Student portfolio.
All information on assessment, assessment activities and their weighting is merely a guide. The lecturer responsible for each subject will provide full information when teaching begins.
Review
When publishing final marks prior to recording them on students' transcripts, lecturers will provide written notification of a date and time for reviewing assessment activities. Students must arrange reviews in agreement with the relevant lecturer.
Missed / failed assessment activities
Students may retake assessment activities they have failed or compensate for any they have missed, provided that those they have actually performed account for a minimum of 66.6% (two thirds) of the final mark and that they have a weighted average mark of at least 3.5. In the case of retaking or compensating for an activity, the highest final mark that can be obtained is 5.
When publishing final marks prior to recording them on transcripts, lecturers will inform students, in writing, of the procedure to follow to retake or compensate for assessment activities. Lecturers may set one assignment per failed or missed assessment activity or a single assignment to cover a number of such activities.
Classification as “not assessable”
If the assessment activities a student has performed account for 25% or less of a subject's final mark, theirwork will be classified as "not assessable".
Misconduct in assessment activities
Students who engage in misconduct (plagiarism, copying, personation, etc.) in an assessment activity will receive a mark of 0 for the activity in question. Misconduct in more than one assessment activity will result in a final mark of 0 for the subject involved.
Students may not retake assessment activities in which they are found to have engaged in misconduct.
