Prerequisitos

Para cursar este módulo, se deben haber cursado previamente los módulos "Historia y civilización egipcia I" e "Historia y civilización egipcia II" del primer curso del máster.

Objetivos y contextualización

El módulo tiene por objetivo que el estudiante se especialice en historia y civilización egipcia a partir del estudio crítico de las fuentes epigráficas, arqueológicas e iconográficas, del análisis de la literatura especializada sobre los temas abordados, del uso de los principales repertorios e instrumentos bibliográficos y técnicos de la disciplina egiptológica, y a partir del conocimiento de los principales métodos y corrientes teóricas de análisis en egiptología.
 
Como objetivos generales:
 
1) Conocer la historia de Egipto desde fines del Segundo Período Intermedio hasta la Época Romana, a partir de la interpretación de las fuentes arqueológicas, iconográficas y textuales y prestando especial atención a los fenómenos sociales e ideológicos.
2) Analizar la administración, la sociedad y la economía egipcias, observando en especial la situación de Egipto durante el Reino Nuevo.
3) Reflexionar acerca de cuestiones de sociología y género (vida, sexualidad, identidad, violencia), de modo que el estudiante, a través de textos, iconografía y restos arqueológicos, conozca cómo vivía y se desarrollaba el individuo en sociedad en el antiguo Egipto.
4) Analizar los presupuestos teóricos y metodológicos con que se aborda el estudio de estos contenidos.

Competencias

  • Contextualizar la evolución histórico-cultural de Egipto en el marco más amplio del Mediterráneo oriental y del Próximo Oriente y valorar las sincronías entre la civilización egipcia y las demás civilizaciones de la Antigüedad.
  • Describir la evolución histórico-cultural del antiguo Egipto, a partir del análisis crítico de las fuentes textuales, arqueológicas e iconográficas.
  • Describir la geografía física y humana, la geología, los recursos naturales y la climatología de Egipto desde el inicio del Holoceno hasta nuestros días.
  • Fundamentar la epistemología y la metodología de la historiografía egiptológica y valorar las diferentes corrientes historiográficas propias de la disciplina.
  • Interpretar críticamente textos como fuentes históricas y culturales.
  • Poseer y comprender conocimientos que aporten una base u oportunidad de ser originales en el desarrollo y/o aplicación de ideas, a menudo en un contexto de investigación.
  • Que los estudiantes posean las habilidades de aprendizaje que les permitan continuar estudiando de un modo que habrá de ser en gran medida autodirigido o autónomo.
  • Que los estudiantes sean capaces de integrar conocimientos y enfrentarse a la complejidad de formular juicios a partir de una información que, siendo incompleta o limitada, incluya reflexiones sobre las responsabilidades sociales y éticas vinculadas a la aplicación de sus conocimientos y juicios.

  8. Describir los diferentes estamentos y ámbitos sociales egipcios y la organización administrativa del Estado faraónico en las distintas etapas de su historia, a partir de las fuentes textuales, arqueológicas e iconográficas y desde los últimos modelos de análisis en estas materias.
  9. Identificar las nuevas tendencias en el enfoque de los fenómenos antropológicos, de género y de vida privada en el antiguo Egipto.
  10. Identificar los rasgos definidores de las concepciones y prácticas identitarias y de género del antiguo Egipto centradas en el individuo: edad, intimidad, sexualidad, marginación.
  11. Identificar los rasgos definidores de las concepciones y prácticas identitarias y de género del antiguo Egipto centradas en la sociedad: etnicidad, territorialidad, alteridad, extranjería, parentesco y relaciones sociales y económicas entre individuos y familias.
  12. Interpretar críticamente fuentes textuales de la historia de Egipto desde el Reino Nuevo hasta la Época Grecorromana.

Contenido

Breve descripción de contenidos del módulo

Historia de Egipto desde el Reino Nuevo hasta la Época Grecorromana, a partir de la interpretación de las fuentes arqueológicas, iconográficas y textuales y prestando especial atención a los fenómenos sociales, políticos y diplomáticos, así como a las relaciones de Egipto con las civilizaciones del Mediterráneo oriental y del Próximo Oriente y de África (Nubia) durante el I milenio a.C. y a la incorporación de Egipto en el imperio de Alejandro y en el mundo helenístico y romano y la progresiva desarticulación de los fundamentos de la civilización faraónica. La sociedad egipcia: estamentos sociales y organización de los ámbitos sociales (elites, comunidades urbanas, comunidades aldeanas). El parentesco, la familia extensa y el clientelismo. El Estado faraónico: estructura y funcionamiento de la administración. Geografía, ecología, economía y geopolítica en el antiguo Egipto. Estudios de género: la mujer en el antiguo Egipto. Aspectos sociológicos y antropológicos: sexualidad, intimidad, identidad, territorialidad, marginación, extranjería. Todos estos contenidos son abordados desde la especialización, es decir, a partir de la discusión crítica de los planteamientos más recientes y de las últimas tendencias de análisis en estas materias.

HISTORIA SOCIAL Y ECONÓMICA DEL ANTIGUO EGIPTO

Horario: De lunes a viernes, del 19 al 30 de abril de 2021, de 18 a 20h.

El curso versará sobre la organización del espacio en el Egipto faraónico, los problemas de interpretación derivados de un uso parcial de la cartografía (“fronteras”, “soberanías”, “estados”, etc.), la utilización del espacio por grupos sociales diversos y las estrategias empleadas por cada uno (pastores, nómadas, la propia monarquía faraónica, etc.). También se abordará la existencia de polos alternativos de poder establecidos en ciertas zonas del Valle del Nilo (especialmente el Egipto Medio) y cómo sus estrategias persiguen el control de los flujos de riqueza que atraviesan Egipto; en ocasiones reconociendo la autoridad de los faraones. En otros casos, persiguiendo una mayor autonomía política. En definitiva, los contenidos del curso se sitúan en la encrucijada entre historia social, económica, política y geopolítica.

PROGRAMA DE LAS CLASES:

Primera semana (19-23 abril): geografía física, paisajes construidos, espacios diferenciados y redes de circulación.

Segunda semana (26-3O abril): espacios y poblaciones, usos del territorio, conflictos e identidades, captura de circuitos comerciales.

Metodología

El trabajo personal del alumno consistirá en:

a) Estudio.

b) Lecturas obligatorias, realización de trabajos y prácticas, preparación de exposiciones en clase, ejercicios de traducción y análisis de fuentes textuales, ejercicios de interpretación de fuentes iconográficas y arqueológicas, estudios de caso, lectura crítica de bibliografía, consulta de repertorios de fuentes y de los principales instrumentos bibliográficos y obras de referencia de la disciplina.

Cualquier actividad presencial que por las circunstancias no pudiera realizarse de ese modo, se realizará en modo on-line.

Evaluación

La calificación final del módulo será la media ponderada de las notas finales de las cuatro materias que lo componen (en función de su creditaje).

 

HISTORIA DEL EGIPTO FARAÓNICO (DEL REINO NUEVO A LA ÉPOCA GRECORROMANA)  Primera parte:  Del Reino Nuevo a la Época Saíta

Se realizará por medio de 3 exámenes, 2 seminarios, y 5 análisis breves de fuentes primarias

Exámenes:

1- MIÉRCOLES 11 de NOVIEMBRE de 2020: clases 1-7 y lecturas obligatorias. De 16 a 18h.

2- MIÉRCOLES 10 de FEBRERO de 2021: clases 9-16 y materiales obligatorios incluidos. De 16 a 18h.

3- MARTES 13 de ABRIL de 2021: clases 18-22 y materiales obligatorios incluidos. De 16 a 18h.

Cada examen valdrá un 20% de la nota total.

  • Asistencia y participación en clase / comentario de lectura obligatoria [Johnson, 1974 (ver sección 5) (10%)

[La lectura debe realizarse con anterioridad al inicio del periodo lectivo.]

  • Actividad práctica: traducción de un texto egipcio y comentario (20%)

[Las instrucciones para esta actividad se detallarán el primer día de clase y el alumno dispondrá de una semana para realizarla (fecha de entrega: 10 de mayo de 2021).]

  • Tutoría en pequeños grupos: estudio y discusión de las titulaturas reales de los Ptolomeos (20%)

[El primer día de clase se establecerán los grupos para la tutoría y se explicará cómo debe prepararse y cómo se desarrollará; las tutorías tendrán lugar a lo largo de la segunda semana lectiva.]

  • Examen final (50%)

[Tendrá lugar acabado el periodo lectivo; su fecha se fijará de acuerdo con el alumnado y el equipo docente.]

Asistencia y participación en clase: 10%

 HISTORIA SOCIAL Y ECONÓMICA DEL ANTIGUO EGIPTO

Consistirá en la elaboración de un breve trabajo final inspirado bien en un problema histórico preciso bien en la lectura y comentario de un artículo significativo. El trabajo deberá entregarse antes del 10 de junio de 2021.

La participación activa en el curso (preguntas, lecturas de las obras propuestas, etc.) contribuirá también a la calificación final.

 

Procedimiento de revisión de las calificaciones

Las calificaciones de los exámenes, las pruebas breves o los trabajos podrán ser revisadas en sede de tutoría personal, en las horas de tutorías de los profesores.

 

Proceso de recuperación

Para aprobar el módulo hay que aprobar las cuatro materias que lo componen. En caso de que un alumno no supere una o más materias, los profesores fijarán las fechas de las eventuales pruebas de recuperación o de entrega de los eventuales trabajos. Estas fechas no serán nunca posteriores a un mes desde la fecha de la prueba o entrega originales.

 

En caso de que el estudiante lleve a cabo cualquier tipo de irregularidad que pueda conducir a una variación significativa de la calificación de un determinado acto de evaluación, este será calificado con 0, independientemente del proceso disciplinario que pueda derivarse de ello. En caso de que se verifiquen varias irregularidades en los actosde evaluación de una mismaasignatura, la calificación final de esta asignatura será 0.

En caso de que las pruebas no se puedan hacer presencialmente, se adaptará su formato (sin alterar su ponderación) a las posibilidades que ofrecen las herramientas virtuales de la UAB. Los deberes, actividades y participación en clase se realizarán a través de foros, wikis y / o discusiones de ejercicios a través de Teams, etc. El profesor o profesora velará para asegurarse el acceso del estudiantado a tales recursos o le ofrecerá otros alternativos que estén a su alcance.
