Objectives and Contextualisation

Once the basic diagnostic knowledge of the image has been obtained, this optional subject intends to deepen the diagnosis of the image and develop the knowledge for the resolution in case-problem. The subject provides the student with knowledge and methodology for: - Make a correct diagnosis for the image - Establish an appropriate differential differential diagnosis - Correctly make decisions in the diagnostic algorithm of the most significant clinical processes in various organs and systems. It is powered by oral presentations the communicative qualities of the students.

Competences

    Medicine
  • Demonstrate understanding of the causal agents and the risk factors that determine states of health and the progression of illnesses.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the manifestations of the illness in the structure and function of the human body.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the mechanisms of alterations to the structure and function of the systems of the organism in illness.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the structure and function of the human organism in illness, at different stages in life and in both sexes.
  • Demonstrate, in professional activity, a perspective that is critical, creative and research-oriented.
  • Formulate hypotheses and compile and critically assess information for problem-solving, using the scientific method.
  • Indicate the basic diagnosis techniques and procedures and analyse and interpret the results so as to better pinpoint the nature of the problems.
  • Maintain and sharpen one's professional competence, in particular by independently learning new material and techniques and by focusing on quality.
  • Perform the basic practical procedures of examination and treatment.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate, in professional activity, a perspective that is critical, creative and research-oriented.
  2. Describe the basic radiological and anatomopathological characteristics of infections and the factors that favour their development.
  3. Describe the general and local factors that affect the development of diseases.
  4. Explain the mechanisms of radiological image and anatomopathological alterations of the commonest diseases of the different body systems.
  5. Formulate hypotheses and compile and critically assess information for problem-solving, using the scientific method.
  6. Identify the biochemical, cytogenetic and molecular biology markers applied to clinical diagnosis of importance in diagnostic imaging: radiological-anatomopathological.
  7. Identify the radiological and anatomopathological alterations of the commonest diseases in the different body systems, at different stages in life and in both sexes.
  8. Interpret the most specific images in the most common pathologies.
  9. Maintain and sharpen one's professional competence, in particular by independently learning new material and techniques and by focusing on quality.
  10. Relate clinical findings to those of imaging tests.
  11. Understand the manifestations of the main pathologies on the structure and function of the human body.

Oral presentation: It will be assessed according to established heading: the content, the research carried out, the quality of the presentation,
the group work carried out and the knowledge obtained. Participation in seminars: It will be assessed according to the attitude and participation in the sessions. Minimum requirements: A minimum attendance is established in the directed training activities of 90%. Final grade: The subject will be approved with a mark equal to or greater than 5.0 out of 10.
Qualification: Fail, pass, good, remarkable, Honour Distinction Job review system: The revision of the work score will be done individually with the student. When the provisional notes are published,
the time and place where the review will be carried out will be indicated. Students who fail to carry out the theoretical and practical evaluation tests will be considered as Not evaluated by exhausting the rights to the registration of the subject  A recovery test will be programmed in a format to be determined by students who do not pass the subject.
