Objectives and Contextualisation


The specific objectives of the course are:

- know the legal system.

- Know how to reason cultural conflicts legally.

- Know how to identify the impact of the law on the cultural world.

  • Analysing the regulations about cultural and natural heritage.
  • Critically analysing the contemporary culture.
  • Students must be capable of applying their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional way and they should have building arguments and problem resolution skills within their area of study.
  • Students must be capable of collecting and interpreting relevant data (usually within their area of study) in order to make statements that reflect social, scientific or ethical relevant issues.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Assessing the consequences of the intellectual propriety in the era of globalisation and ICT.
  2. Developing an index about the legislation concerning cultural industries.
  3. Distinguishing foundations as the legal entities of the cultural world.
  4. Distinguishing the procedures to declare assets of cultural and natural interest and their legal regime.
  5. Identifying the competent administrations as protectors of the cultural heritage, as well as their competences and functions.
  6. Interpreting the administrative legislation concerning cultural and natural heritage.
  7. Interpreting the regulatory information that is located in the web pages of regulatory institutions.
  8. Solving problems about conflicts associated with the implementation of the legislation to cultural and natural heritage.

Content

The syllabus of the subject is divided into two large blocks. The first deals with the impact of law in the world of culture and the second deals with current debates related to cultural issues, to be chosen by students.

First block: What is the right ?. Legal system. Incidence in the cultural world: The administration and its incidence in the cultural world. Regime of responsibilities.

Second block: Debates on current issues related to the cultural world.

Methodology

The teaching methodology will consist of the combination of the master classes together with the study of the case, practices, debates and supervised and autonomous work by the students to improve the acquisition of knowledge and skills.

Assessment

The final grade will be made up of the following weighted criteria:

50% theoretical test where the contents explained in class will be evaluated

20% delivery of internships that will be worked on throughout the course.

30% delivery of a work, where the topic will be chosen by the student based on the guidelines provided by the teacher. This work must be submitted at the end of the course

To be able to add the mark of practices / works will be necessary to obtain at least a 3'5 on 10 to the theoretical proof.



RECOVERY:

People who do not pass the continuous assessment will have the right to recovery on the day officially set by the faculty, provided that these students have been previously assessed in a set of activities whose weight is equivalent to a minimum of 2/3 parts of the total rating.

The people who pass the subject by means of the recovery the maximum note that will appear in his file will be of a 5.

On the other hand, if the student has not been evaluated in this set of activities, the weight of which is equivalent to a minimum of 2/3 of the total grade will be evaluated with a grade of "Not presented".

PESTS:

In the event that the student commits any irregularity that could lead to a significant variation in the grade of an assessment act, this assessment act will be graded with 0, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be instructed. In the event of several irregularities in the evaluation acts of the same subject, the final grade for this subject will be 0.



*** In relation to these evaluation criteria, it must be borne in mind that in the event that the tests cannot be carried out in person, their format will be adapted (maintaining their weighting) to the possibilities offered by the virtual tools of at the UAB. Homework, activities and class participation will be done through forums, wikis and / or exercise discussions through Teams, etc. Theteacher will ensure that the Student can access it or offer him / her alternative means, which are within his / her reach.
