Francès Instrumental II is part of the basic subjets of the students preparing the degree of French Studies (as well as the students of the Degrees of Studies of French and Catalan, French and Spanish Studies, French and English Studies and French Studies and classical langages).
The aim of this subject is to deepen the learning of the instrumental French language of the student through the production of documents of different types in the current French language and understanding of authentic documents of different types ( A2+ / B1).
The contents covered in this course are also aimed at providing students with the necessary tools for accessing the contents of literary and cultural language subjects planned in later courses.
The main aim of this subject is to develop a series of not only linguistic but also socio-cultural competences as well as an aptitude to learn to learn. The development of these competences will be done through the oral and written practice of the language that englobe all its aspects (communicative, grammatical, lexical ...). The different functional, linguistic and cultural objectives will be structured around three main axes: description, narration and argumentation.
Some of the competences that the student will achieve are the following:
Narrate and ask about a past event or event.
Express your opinion about a fact or topic of current affairs and argue it.
Make short and prepared expositions about a personal experience.
Use of active and passive sentences.
Use of indirect speech (present and past).
Etc.
This is an is essentially practical subject. The emphasis in the formative activities will be put in the active participation of students to be able to reach the competences detailed in this guide.
In general terms, learning will be directed through the following set of techniques and actions:
Master class with ICT support and collective discussion
Practice of written and oral expression in French
Analysis of grammatical phenomena
Comprehensive reading of texts
Drawing up diagrams, conceptual maps and summaries
Doing individual and group exercises, both written and oral (letters, narratives, descriptions ..., debates, dialogues, expositions on a specific topic ...)
Carry out autonomous activities: notebook exercises, preparation of tests, readings, essays, searching for information on the Internet ...
Classroom exchanges (teacher-student, student-student)
Grammar, written / oral and written / oral comprehension tests
Work will be done with authentic documents in French.

Continuous assessment is carried out for this subject and it will include the work done throughout the course, both the various tests and the works delivered throughout the semester. Student will know about de grades via Moodle.
It will be considered as ‘non-assessable' if the student has given less than 30% of the activities assigned to the course and has performed less than 30% of the compulsory tests. Therefore, if the student has done more than 30% of each part, can be assessed.
The second evaluation will only be offered to those students who, having carried out the continuous assessment, have failed or have not delivered some of the works (provided they have delivered more than 2/3 parts of the assignments) and want to recover it. Some tasks can not be repeated (participation in class, oral presentations, exercises done in class). the goal of second exam is not to raise grades. On the other hand, to pass the subject, the two parts of the subject must be passed, both oral and written. The minimum grade to have a second exam is 3.5 / 10. The type of activities offered to the student may depend on the case.
Plagiarism: The total and partial plagiarism of any of the exercises will automatically be considered FAILED (0) of the plagiarized exercise. Plagiarism is to copy from unidentified sources of a text, it is a single phrase or more, which is passed through its own production (this includes copying phrases or fragments of the Internet and adding them without modifications to the text that is presented as its own ), it is a serious offense.
Particular cases: French-speaker students must follow the same assessment conditions as other students. The responsibility of the follow-up of the class activities and evaluation falls exclusively to the student.
