El curs té com a objectiu proporcionar a l'estudiant no jurídic una visió i comprensió dels temes centrals del dret penal internacional i els drets humans, així com l'abast i el contingut de les respostes legals disponibles sota el dret internacional a les atrocitats que es poden definir com a crims de guerra, crims contra la humanitat, genocidi i violacions dels drets humans, tot oferint un ampli i profund coneixement de les qüestions pertinents i donant suport al desenvolupament de les habilitats acadèmiques a través de l'anàlisi d'aquestes qüestions a la pràctica recent.
NOTA: les lectures obligatòries per preparar les sessions, així com els temes i / o pregunta s'adjuntaran al campus virtual (moodle) seguint el calendari de classe. TOTA la documentació serà en Anglès

ACTIVITATS OBLIGATÒRIES 1.- PAPER SOBRE UN ESTUDI DE CAS (30% de la nota final a lliurar a principis de maig en català, castellà o anglés. ÉS OBLIGATORI que constin les fonts: referències i bibliografia) 3.500-4.000 paraules en què l'estudiant ha d'analitzar un dels casos després d'una consulta amb el professor.
L'estructura del paper pot ser (opcional): 1. Introducció: breu descripció de la situació i el seu context 2. Presentació dels problemes de drets humans i / o crims internacionals fundats en el cas 3. Relació del cas amb els temes del curs i, si és possible, la comparació amb altres situacions estudiades a classe 4. Presentació dels resultats obtinguts per protegir els drets humans fins ara 5. Proposta d'accions noves / alternatives / complementàries per millorar les solucions 6. Comentari personal del cas

2.- ACTIVITATS DE SEMINARI (preparació i participació): 50% de la nota final (es valorarà sobre 9 activitats)
3.- PARTICIPACIÓ A LES CLASSES Inclou les lectures i la investigació. L'actitud activa de l'alumne i les intervencions a través de les sessions (en anglés o castellà) és obligatòria i representarà el 20% de la nota final.
La simple presència a classe sense intervenció NO comptarà com a participació
Reevaluació (pas / no pas): Per l'alumnat que del conjunt de l'avaluació no hagi obtingut durant el curs la nota mínima de 5, però ha participat a classe i ha obtingut com a nota final més de 4, hi ha la possibilitat d'un examen.
Aquest examen tindrà lloc a la data assignada per la facultat. L'estructura serà de 10 preguntes breus relacionades amb els continguts del curs i la nota finàl màxima que es podrà obtenir será 6.5
