Prerequisites
In addition to these prerequisites, it is recommended that students enrolling in this course are in the final stage of their degree and have time available to carry out a work placement or job outside the UAB.
Objectives and Contextualisation
The main objective of this course is to enable students to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their degree and to introduce them to the professional world, offering a potential pathway to future employment.
Environmental Science students may take the External Internships course in one of the Companies, Services, or Institutes with which the UAB has a collaboration agreement.

Content
Each of the companies or external centers where external internships can be carried out might be related to different fields of environmental sciences, and therefore the content of the internships will depend on the tasks performed. Before starting an external internship, the student must have a work plan agreed upon with the company or center, detailing the tasks and content of the work to be carried out. This work plan must be approved by the course coordinator in order to begin the internship. The required protocol information can be found on the Environmental Sciences internship webpage.

- Internships may be carried out during either semester of the academic year or over the summer.
- Students may do their internship in companies listed in the historical catalogue of Environmental Sciences degree placements, in companies currently seeking students through published offers, or in companies with which the student has made initial contact.
- During the month prior to starting the internship, the student will have an interview with the course coordinator. In this meeting, the professor and the student will agree on the company where the internship will take place.
- The student will meet with the company contact person, to whom they will provide their CV, and with whom they must agree on: the tasks to be carried out, the period, schedule, and total time commitment. Based on this information, the company will complete and sign the "work plan form."
- The student will then meet again with the course coordinator who, if the work plan is approved, will complete and sign the internship agreement proposal and send it to Academic Management, which will begin the agreement process.
- The student must enroll in the course. Academic Management will send the agreement to both the student and the company. Once signed by both parties and by the UAB, the internship can begin. Please note that INTERNSHIPS CANNOT BEGIN WITHOUT A SIGNED AGREEMENT.
- Upon completing the internship, the student must write a report following the format provided on the Environmental Sciences internship website and submit it at least 15 days before the closing of the evaluation period.
- Finally, the company tutor will complete an evaluation using the template provided on the website and send it directly to the course coordinator.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.
