Content

Autonomous and individual work based on any subject of the field of Microbiology.

The content of the TFG is marked by the offer renewed annually during the month of July in which the Degree announces the topics offered. Under each heading is a brief description of the topic, the content of which will be constructed and defined by the student under the supervision of a tutor.

Methodology

The management of the TFG is in charge of the following figures:

• The person in charge of the subject
• The faculty committee of the TFG, made up of those responsible for the TFG of the degrees of the Faculty
• Tutors
• The TFG evaluation commission

In the website of the Faculty of Biosciences, the schedule of the administrative and academic steps is outlined. As for the latter:

• Each student will be assigned to a tutor, who will carry out a follow-up of the student's work through four tutorials: the first one will be a first contact to give the appropriate instructions. The other three sessions will be scheduled at the beginning, middle, and end of work.
• When students enrolled in the TFG were part of a mobility program, the way to do tutorials could be by a telematic media.
• During the elaboration of the work, the student will be careful to update a portfolio that will contain in a coordinated way all the materials collected and elaborated.
• Depending on the type chosen, the student will prepare the appropriate materials on written, graphic or digital media.
• The common format of public presentation and defense of the TFG will be a poster.

Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Assessment

The evaluation of the TFG consists of two parts:
 1. Assessment Committee (60% of the qualification). The common format of public presentation of the TFG in the Faculty of Biosciences is a poster which will be evaluated by the TFG Assessment Committee of the degree;  three members of this Committee will evaluate the TFG in the poster's sessions. The delivery will be made following the instructions of the TFG regulations. In exceptional and justified situations, not contemplated in the evaluation regulations of the Faculty, the delay of up to one week in the delivery will mean the reduction of the qualification in 2 points. Deliveries will not be accepted later. The presentation will be done on a specific date for each degree, determined by the person in charge of the subject, who will also have to specify schedule.

The Assessment Committee will meet with the student in front of his poster to discuss his work. During this time, the student must have all the documentation that he has developed, such as the portfolio, the written memory, videos, and computer programs and so on.

2. Assessment by the tutor (40% of the qualification). The tutor will evaluate the written memory and the materials that have been generated throughout the work, paying special attention to the evolution of the student's work, through the different tutorial sessions, and the fulfillment of the objectives set.

The evaluation requires the qualification of both the tutor and the Assessment Committee. Otherwise, the TFG will be NOT EVALUABLE.
If it was necesssary, the person in charge of the TFG may select a maximum number of students equal to double the maximum number of honor qualification that can be awarded among those who have achieved the best qualifications. In this case, selected students who wish to opt for the maximum qualification will have to make an oral and public presentation and defense of their TFG in front the Evaluation Committee on a specific date.
