Can understand practically (almost) anything he/she reads or hears (almost) effortlessly, if it is an oral or written variant of the standard language. Can filter information from various written and oral sources and write summaries of it, giving reasons and explanations in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, fluently and accurately, and can make clear finer nuances of meaning even in complex situations.
The function of this subject is to provide the student with the fundamental knowledge of the culture of the B language necessary to translate and interpret.
At the end of the course the student will be able to:

Apply this knowledge to interpret cultural references related to the B language.
Integrate knowledge to make judgments about cultural aspects of language B.
Transmit information about cultural aspects of the B language.

Knowledge of the conventions that govern the behaviours that form part of socio-cultural competence deserves special attention since, unlike other aspects of knowledge, it is likely not to be within previous experience and may be distorted by stereotypes.
1. Geographical, demographic, socio-political and state organisational aspects of the Federal Republic of Germany.
2. The recent history of Germany (divided into the following units):
- The post-war period and the creation of the two Germanies
- The Cold War - the Adenauer era
- The events of '68
- The new politics of the East and the Brandt era
- The GDR
- The Fall of the Berlin Wall and Reunification
- Development of Germany after Reunification
3. Prominent places and objects in which German national, cultural and social memory is embodied.
- Highlights and objects embodying the national, cultural and social memory of Germany (BRD).

4. Patterns of communication and behaviour, stereotypes and norms of daily life.

Texts on specific topics are read and commented on. The students then look for information on the topics covered and these are processed together.
The aim is to convey regional studies with different approaches and to convey knowledge about geography, state, history and politics, culture, society, etc. in several steps. In order to encourage discussion, facts are treated and presented in a comparative way.

The information about the evaluation, the type of evaluation activity and its weight on the subject is for information purposes. The teachers responsible for the subject will specify it when they start teaching, continuous formative evaluation of the learning and final evaluation. The evaluation system is organized in modules distributed in individual works and written and oral tests.
Evaluation and diagnostic system and activities used:
Execution of textual work on topics related to foreign languages for translators and interpreters,
Tests of execution of real tasks and / or simulated textual communication in foreign language,
Tests with open-ended questions of comprehension and textual production,
Tests with closed-ended questions of comprehension and textual production.
Review
At the time of giving the final grade prior to the report, the faculty will communicate in writing a date and time of review. The review of the different evaluation activities will be agreed between the teaching staff and the students.
Recovery
Repetition of an activity is available to students who have presented themselves to activities the weight of which equals 66.6% (two-thirds) or more of the final grade and who have obtained a weighted grade of 3.5 or more.
At the time of giving the final grade prior to the course report, the teachers will communicate in writing the recovery procedure. The teaching staff may propose a recovery activity for each activity suspended or not presented or may group various activities.
In the case of students who have passed the recovery, the maximum grade of the subject module is 5.
Consideration of "not evaluable".
A "non-avaluable" will be assigned when the assessment evidence provided by the student equals no more than one-fourth of the total grade for the subject.
Irregularities in assessment activities
In case of irregularity (plagiarism, copying, impersonation, etc.) in an evaluation activity, the rating of this evaluation activity will be 0. In case of irregularities in various evaluation activities, the final grade of the subject will be 0.
Evaluation activities in which irregularities have occurred (such as plagiarism, copying, impersonation) are excluded from recovery.
