Para cursar esta asignatura se recomienda haber aprobado todas las asignaturas de literatura y cultura de 1r y 2º curso.
Se necesita un nivel de inglés C2 del Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, según el cual el estudiante puede comprender las ideas principales de temas concretos y abstractos, incluso las argumentaciones técnicas en su campo de especialización (en este caso, la literatura poscolonial). Además, el estudiante debe poder interactuar con hablantes nativos con fluidez y espontaneidad sin grandes esfuerzos y producir textos argumentativos claros y detallados donde exprese opiniones.
1. Introducción básica a la teoría y la práctica de los Estudios poscoloniales en los païses de habla inglesa (India, ex-colonias del Pacífico, Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Africa, el Caribe y Canadá)
2. Estudio básico de los aspectos de clase, identidad de género, raza, etnicidad y nacionalidad en el entorno sociocultural de habla inglesa.
3. Lectura crítica y análisis de una selección de textos (impresos y audiovisuales) y de manifestaciones culturales de la sociedad contemporánea de habla inglesa, seguiendo parámetros propios de los Estudis poscoloniales en inglés.
4. Estudio de las transformaciones recientes més relevantes en la sociedad y la cultura del entorno geográfico de habla inglesa, con especial atención a aquellas introducidas por el feminismo, el desmantelamiento de los imperios coloniales y los nuevos conceptos sobre la idea de la cultura.
